Reaching out to the people of Mousehole

Once the centre of community activities and full of life, the Solomon Browne Hall, situated in the heart of Mousehole, saw its doors close like many others during the pandemic. Not ones to be defeated by the circumstances, the Committee quickly establishes a network to support some of their most vulnerable community members.

They were able to offer a range of services to include a volunteer network, telephone helpline, smile bags and virtual events. All of theses services assist vulnerable people in receiving essential food items, medication, communication, stimulation and above all else a friendly, familiar voice at the end of a call.

The Cornwall Community Foundation are pleased to  support the numerous services with a £3,000 grant award. A beneficiary of the many services offered said, “thank you, I didn’t know where else to turn to for help. I don’t know what I would have done without you.” The organisation will continue to offer this support for as long as required.
