About us

About Us

The Cornwall Community Foundation helps people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly by awarding small grants to grassroots organisations who are working to overcome the challenges of disadvantage, exclusion and poverty in their communities.

In 1999 a group of philanthropists identified the need to give those struggling across the Duchy a voice, and to establish an independent source of funding within Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, so they founded the Cornwall Independent Trust. In 2003 the Trust became the Cornwall Community Foundation (CCF), continuing to support work to improve education, health – both physical and mental; and the relief of poverty and sickness.

Since 2003 CCF has awarded £16m to over 7000 local projects across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Our Vision

We want Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to be a great place to live for everyone – a place where people work together to address disadvantage and build strong, resilient communities.

Our Mission

We inspire philanthropy and giving to meet local needs, building equitable and strong communities.

Our Values

Local – for us charity really does start at home, and that’s Cornwall and The Isles of Scilly.
Open – we’re an inclusive and adaptable organisation, and believe in sharing, open communication and mutual trust.
Connected – we believe in the power of working together.
Independent – we are an independent charity rooted in the local community that we serve.
Beneficial – we care deeply, and want to enable positive change within our local community.

As a foundation, we have the expertise and local knowledge to help donors support the local causes and charities they care about, enabling them to make an impact through their giving. We identify issues of importance to our donors and award small grants to grassroots organisations on their behalf – making a real difference to people’s lives across Cornwall.

As an independent organization, we rely on your donations to fund us and continue to develop, maintain and grow our grant-making capacity for community groups and individuals in Cornwall. Governed by a Board of Trustees, the Foundation is a registered charity (Charity No 1099977) and company limited by guarantee (Company No 04816191).
