Cornwall Glass Tea Party celebrates £400 grants to 48 Cornish community groups.

Tamas, CEO, and Jeremy, Development Director, were delighted to attend Cornwall Glass’s Tea Party celebrating the award of £400 grants to 48 Cornish community groups.

Chairman Mark Mitchell wanted to do something special to commemorate the company’s 40th Anniversary and along with his wife Denise, Chair of the Cornwall Glass Grants Panel, decided to award as many grass root community groups in the county as possible.  More than £19,000 was awarded to groups from the Cornwall Glass Fund in 2018.  Since the Fund started in 2009, more than £100,000 has been awarded to grassroots community organisations.

The Celebration Tea Party was attended by representatives of many of the groups awarded funding and it was a wonderful showcase of the diversity and breadth of people all enthusiastically working to improve their local communities.

Heather Mitchell, co-founder of Cornwall Glass and one of the first Glass Fund Panel members said, “What has been so lovely has been the opportunity to meet so many who we have assisted. Reading through applications and hearing the stories of change that relatively modest amounts of money can make, it’s been truly wonderful to meet and talk to those we have helped.”

Tamas Haydu CCF, CEO said ” It was such an inspiring event. I have never met so many project representatives at the same time. It was a brilliant occasion and showed how much Cornwall Glass cares about local communities. Congratulations on such a fantastic event and celebrating 40 years.”
