Business Club presents cheque to Cornwall Life Recycle

CCF Business Club member, Barry Wilkinson of Office and Interior Smart, visited the Cornwall Life Recycle project, based in Camborne, to present a cheque for £1,500 to support the project’s work.

Barry said, “I was delighted to present this funding on behalf of the CCF Business Club. We are a group of more than 50 Cornish businesses who pool our charitable giving and meet regularly to discuss how we can best help our local communities. On my visit to Cornwall Life RecycIe I was very impressed with their work. They are giving their participants opportunities that would not otherwise be open to them.”

Cornwall Life Recycle works to improve the lives of those who are disadvantaged by helping them learn new skills, build confidence and to work as a team. Guided by a volunteer mentor, participants completely rebuild second hand bicycles that have been donated to the project. Through the rebuild process and one to one mentor support, the participants learn a broad range of life and work skills.

Cornwall Life Recycle Director, Helen Cobb, said, “We are very grateful to the CCF Business Club for the £1,500 grant. As well as enabling us to buy parts, the funding has been used in part towards our broadband and telephone facilities. The telephone and internet are important for our participants learning how to search for and order replacement parts. This is the second grant we have received from the CCF Business Club and their support for our project is much valued by us.”
