Cornwall Community Foundation launches Surviving Winter campaign 2022

We have launched our Surviving Winter 2022 campaign and are appealing to anyone who receives the Winter Fuel Payment but does not need some or all of it, to donate their payment to our campaign. It is a sad reality that due to the cost of living crisis many vulnerable people are facing one of their bleakest and most challenging winters. Donations are very welcome from all people wishing to support our campaign.

Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner grants nearly £50,000 to groups tackling antisocial behaviour across Cornwall

We are delighted to have administered another round of grant-awarding from the Commissioners Community Grant Scheme. This funding round saw sixteen community groups across Cornwall awarded, with grants ranging from £1,500 to £5,000. This round was created to support activities tackling anti-social behaviour in local communities across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

All the fun of the Christmas Fair

For two days in November, the Eden Project will play twinkly host to the Cornwall Christmas Fair. A glorious array of Christmas gifts, home accessories, fashion, ceramics, jewellery, skincare, children’s clothes and toys will be available between the biomes with a diverse and delectable range of artisan food and drink produce in the Ginsters Food Hall.

Old bags have style at Cornwall Christmas Fair

In the spirit of reuse and recycle, visitors to this year’s Cornwall Christmas Fair are being asked to bring a favourite vintage Cornwall Christmas Fair shopping bag to the festive event. All those sporting an old bag at the annual Christmas fundraiser will be entered into the Lillicrap Chilcott prize draw to win a limited edition signed print kindly donated by Jim Moir.

Calling all budding Cornish creative writers!

The Young & Talented Cornwall Creative Writing Award sponsored by Falmouth University and Seasalt Cornwall has launched to nurture aspiring wordsmiths and help them on their way to seeing their work in print, or performed on stage or screen. Applications are now open, giving budding young writers in Cornwall the chance to kick-start their careers and achieve their writing dreams.

Cornwall Community Foundation is deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the II. We send our deepest condolences to our new King, His Majesty King Charles III and The Queen Consort, and we extend our sympathy to the whole Royal Family at this difficult time.

Cornwall Community Foundation announces new Chair of Trustees

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Kim Conchie DL FRSA as the new Chair of Trustees. Kim has been part of the Foundation as a Trustee since 2017 and became Vice-Chair of the Foundation in 2021. Kim takes over the role of Chair from Jane Hartley DL who steps down after five incredibly busy and successful years

We were honoured to be invited to attend the Garden Party at Boconnoc Estate in Lostwithiel to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and the 70th Anniversary of HRH the Prince of Wales becoming the Duke of Cornwall. It was lovely to see so many community projects that have been supported by the Foundation and recipients of the Young & Talented Cornwall Fund.

We are delighted to welcome Truro-based trusted financial planners Watson French to the CCF Business Club. Watson French joins other businesses to support the Business Club’s grant-making to community groups making a positive difference to people’s lives in the county.
