The Headland, the luxury hotel set on an iconic clifftop overlooking Newquay’s Fistral Beach, is offering grant support to charities and community groups in the Newquay area through its Headland Hotel Community Fund.

The Fund was established in 2019 by the owners of the Hotel who are committed to investing in the local community. Managed on behalf of The Headland by CCF, funds are raised by inviting guests to make an optional donation at check out.

Veryan Palmer, Headland Hotel Director says, “We are a business that’s rooted in all that is best in Newquay and North Cornwall. We are passionate about supporting the local grassroots groups and charities who are working to make our communities stronger. The guests who visit us enjoy a wonderful experience holidaying in the beautiful surroundings of Newquay and Cornwall and are very pleased to donate to the Community Fund.”

The Fund, that has previously awarded grants to the Drop In And Share Centre, Newquay Foodbank, Newquay Youth Club and Oasis House, is welcoming new applications supporting projects from Newquay and the surrounding areas that address immediate crisis relief, mental health and wellbeing provision. First-time applicants to the fund will take priority and the average grant available is £3,000, although higher awards may be available in exceptional circumstances.

CCF Chief Executive Tamas Haydu, says, “We are very grateful to The Headland Hotel for fundraising for their Community Fund. It is great to see an iconic Cornish business, that’s also a member of the CCF Business Club, committed to supporting projects that are really making a difference and changing lives in the Newquay area.”
