Cornwall Community Foundation responds to racist violence

At Cornwall Community Foundation, we are deeply horrified by the racist hatred and violence we’ve witnessed across the UK. We stand in solidarity with all communities who are impacted by racism, xenophobia and Islamophobia. As a foundation committed to fostering inclusivity and equality, we are proud to support community groups that are dedicated in their efforts to create a hate-free Cornwall.

We are reaching out to our partners supporting asylum seekers, refugees, and those from racially minoritised communities, encouraging them to apply for small grants available through our Community Fund. These grants will enable our community experts to use the funds flexibly as they see fit to support those most impacted. Priority will be given to groups led by people who have direct experience of racial abuse or marginalisation.

We also have Crisis Funds for Individuals available for those impacted by racial abuse, with up to £200 per person. Community groups can apply for these funds to distribute to individuals. This can support their most pressing needs such as safe transport, counselling and therapeutic support.

We are heartened by the efforts of local communities here in Cornwall to stand against hate and intolerance. Together, we can work to ensure that Cornwall is a place of compassion, where everyone is valued and respected.
