Notes:

The Cornwall Social Enterprise Fund is focused on promoting long-term financial sustainability in social enterprises across Cornwall. It will do this by providing funding that will enable organisations to generate revenue which is distinctly separate from charitable
funding. Applications from start-up and established groups are welcome, where there is a strong focus on long-term financial sustainability.

Examples of funded projects may include:
• Funding to establishing employment within a social enterprise, but only where there is a specific and realistic revenue stream generated by that post.
• Funding for specific training within an SE where there is identifiable and realistic income created from those skills being available within that organisation.
• Capital equipment which will increase an organisation’s income earning potential.
• Business planning support, including consultant’s fees & mentoring, to help develop your plans for financial sustainability?

We expect your project to meet the following criteria:
1. Sustainable income Earned income from non-grant funded sources aiming to be 50% in the case of established social enterprises, and, 20% in the case of start-up organisations.
2. Clear and realistic planning Organisations will be expected to provide clear, long-term planning documentation that include evidence-based financial projections.
3. Research and experience We will look for you to provide significant knowledge based on market research and experience to back-up your proposal.

If your project does not meet the above criteria then it will not progress to the funding panel – we will provide feedback to you in this case.

Grants available range from £1,000 to £20,000 although larger grants may be given at the panel’s discretion.

Deadline for applications: 20th June 2024.
