Lynher Dairies – Catherine Mead
Cornish Yarg and Wild Garlic Yarg are leaf- wrapped cheeses made by hand at the Lynher Dairies Cheese Company in West Cornwall. The dairy processes 2 million litres of milk, hand picks two tonnes of nettle and wild garlic leaves from the neighbouring woodland, and produces more than 200 tonnes of cheese a year.
Lynher Dairies is now one of the most successful makers of artisan cheese in Britain, consistently winning gold medals at British and worldwide cheese shows. Dairy owner Catherine Mead is also an international cheese judge and chair of Fifteen.
